. Trying to find out more about my Mum's relations in Salford. Parents Joseph Henry Key 1881-1923 and Elizabeth Taylor 1887-1952. her Grandparents were Alfred Taylor married to Mary Lake in 1873 and John Key married Elizabeth Clark 1880. it is her Aunts, Uncles and cousins I am interested in as I have vague memories of going to visit some Uncles but not which ones. They all appear to have lived in and around the Salford area. Mum lived in Winton all her life and I did until I married.

Thank you so much for the information. Yes the Church is still there and very active. It is the Parish church for Eccles and Ellesmere Park. I have not gone so far back at present, only up to the 1800s. I am more interested in the recent relatives and their children who would have known Mum. I have the names of many of them but not much else.

Still a bit unsure here.
You have gone back with Joseph Henry, your mother’s father and now want to go sideways from him to his siblings and their descendants. Then do the same with her mother. Is that right?
It would then be a case of finding marriages and births through available records.
Find my Past now has 1921 census which might be very useful.
Ancestry and FindMyPast also have the 1939 register.
It is no use posting information you already have but here is 1901 for Joseph with his parents and siblings.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X92M-DRX
There are two brothers, Frederick and Alfred there and a sister Violet.
If you have not done so, you could now look for any marriages and births.

Amondg - I have just found an Albert Edward Key and a Bertha Key baptised Christ Church Bradford - Deleted - Heywood has posted no connection whatsoever ...
................................
ADDED
It looks like John Key / Elizabeth Key - Frederick and other children baptised Parish of St Clement - Ordsall in Salford
unless there are TWO John / Elizabeth Key having children at the same time ?
-
From the GRO Index that lists mother's maiden name.
-
I am not familiar with the area - I have just added on to my post about Parish of St Clement - Ordsall in Salford - is this near to WINTON - where Hipp says the family lived ??
I will have a look on AARouteplanner
ADDED - 6 miles from Winton to Ordsall - so could be Hipps family being baptised in Ordsall ?

Albert Edward and Bertha have parents as John and Mary. They were baptised Christ Church, Bradford (Manchester) not Yorkshire as this family. So not part of this search.

Thanks Heywood - I will delete that part of the post to save any confusion

Alfred Key, 33 yrs , father John, greengrocer married Helen Sweetman, widow 1920, St Cyprian Salford
Possible death 1922 Alfred Key, Salford.
Violet Key b 1922 mmn Derbyshire (Helen Sweetman was Derbyshire)
So it looks as though both Joseph Henry’s brothers died young.

Again, thanks for your leads. It's a long time since I did any family history research so I an a bit rusty. Firstly, I can't see any connection to my tree with the marriage of a Mabel and Albert.
I have both John and Elizabeth Key as grocers in Monmouth St Salford where they both died, John in 1928 and Elizabeth in 1927.
I have the marriage of Frederick and Elizabeth Holt in 1902 at St Marks Church Hulme. They are in the 1911 census living at 48 Hereford st Ordsall with children Thomas Frederick b1904, Joseph b1906 and Gladys b1907. I can't find anything else about the family in 1921 census, or about Elizabeth in 1939 Register. As you say there is a death of Frederick in 1920 which my well be him.
I found the marriage of Alfred and Helen Sweatman and them living at 8 Soho St Salford in the 1921 Census along with Helen's daughter Helen age 10 from her 1st marriage. The child Violet M was born and died unfortunately in the later half of 1922. it seems that Alfred did die in 1922 as I can't find any other information about him.
Maybe Alfred and Frederick died of TB like my Gradfather Joseph Henry as they all died within 3 years. Just a thought.
Now I need to follow the children.
