Thomas Bartholomew Armstrong was born in 1828, died in 1894 in Blyth, Northumberland.
I have census records from 1861 but they dont help me find his parents or siblings. Is there anyone who can help me find this information. He was a master mariner who married Elizabeth Reveley in 1853 in Christchurch, Tynemouth.
Thank you, in anticipation

Do you have his 1853 marriage cert which should show his fathers name & occupation?
Was he born in Northumberland? No birthplace given above? If so - where in Northumberland?
EDIT - 1861 entry shows him b Blyth
-
A tree on Ancestry shows his parents as William & Jane nee Patterson

There is a baptism image dated 18.7.1830 for Thomas B. His parents as already stated are William & Jane. William's occupation is Mariner and their abode is So?(South) Blyth.

There is a baptism for a Thomas Bartholomew Armstrong 18th July 1830
Earsdon Northumberland
Father William ( seaman ) mother Jane
England Select Marriages for Thomas has his father as William
Maybe getting a copy of his marriage will give you occupation of father to see if this is the same person

Did you know that you will be able to access the marriage entry for free at North Shields local studies?
I see you live in the Newcastle area so you are not too far away. Are you able to visit the local studies?

FreeReg has several baptisms of the children of William and Jane in Earsdon. William Armstrong married Jane Patterson by Licence in Woodhorn 31 January 1804. Marriage also on FreeReg.

Thank you to everyone for all your help, most appreciated. Helen

Actually if William Armstrong married Jane Patterson by Licence in Woodhorn 31 January 1804, its unlikely they are the parents of Thomas born in 1828 unfortunately.

I'm not sure why you think that?
There is 25 years between me and my oldest sibling.

Good grief, well you beat me hands down Rosie! I remember an occasion one time when a Grt x 2 niece as a very little girl asked me who I was and I explained to her that I was her Granddad's auntie. Then I thought goodness, that makes me sound as old as the hills. There was a time when I never would have imagined myself as any 'Granddads' auntie!!😅
I only wish I had living Grt Grts or Grt Grt Grts!! Oh what answers I might be able to get from some of them and hopefully mysteries cleared up. ;)
Maybe there is some correlation between being the baby of the family and interest in genealogy .. perhaps a scientific study should be carried out.😉😅
