I may be wrong with this request, the person in question MAY still be alive?
looking for info on above, she was the daughter of henry/gertrude, nee butler, at blaby lecis, says she may have been adopted in 1932, after her mother died?? thankyou.margaret.

Presumably this birth registration:
Sept qtr 1930 Blaby (7a/68) "Occasional copy: A"
I haven't seen that before - not quite sure what it means?

Just checked and apparently it means the original has been amended in some way.

no john only a year, BUT since my request have Edwin arthur quilter born 1920 married in 1945=kathleen m pegg, may be a brother? also irene quliter born 26.1.1922 she was single perhaps a sister.??

Thankyou Maddy.since my last post, betty edna quilter ==1942 dec quarter to JOSLIN chelmsford Essex, she may have died 1982 at plymouth, been going onto general registation site. just need conformation thanks.margaret.

The Betty Quilter who married Keith George Joslin in 1942 was Betty Louisa Quilter, daughter of Richard Quilter and Edith Emily Francis. There's a newspaper item about the wedding, giving Betty's family details and the family's address. It looks like this Betty died in 2007 and husband Keith died in 1992.
Coming back to the Betty born in 1930, there's a newspaper item about her mother's death. Her father was a witness at the Coroner's inquest, and stated he and his late wife had 5 children, the oldest a girl of 17. Which all tallies with the info already posted. The Coroner did question what was to happen to the oldest child, as she had a school scholarship and had just passed her Oxford exam, but no mention of the others.

Magslote, Edwin Arthur Quilter was my father, can I ask about your interest in Betty, All I know about her is that she was adopted sometime in 1932 after the death of their mother, It was an official adoption and her birth cert is amended with adopted on it, Ive never been able to find out what happened to her, many years ago I went through the adoption people in Leicester but never got anywhere.
