Hi Rootschatters.
I have Margaret Nellie Jones ( nee Lee), a widow, dying in March 2005 in Ipswich District, Suffolk. The England and Wales Civil Registration Index lists her as #C33B, District/subdistrict #747/1C, entry number #19. She was 93 years old and quite likely to have been in a nursing home. I am writing a short biography of her and her husband Thomas. I am looking for her obituary to add some colour to the lives I have reconstructed for them from the registration and census records. I would be grateful if one could be found. I do not know if she was buried, but a grave site would also be welcome. Thanks as always, Bryan

Have you tried searching online as not many people put obituaries in newspapers nowadays.

GRO online has no record of that death in 2005
No marriage between a Thomas Jones & Margaret Lee
No birth for a Margaret Nellie Lee 1911-1913

I feel so silly... it is Margery I was looking for.....I have all the records for births marriage and deaths....the key things I am looking for are an obit and a grave for Margery Nellie Jones ( nee Lee) The obit may well be in an Ipswich or Suffolk newspaper for March 2005. Thank you all for helping. Bryan

Just for info, Margery appears on the 1939 war register in Haselmere Surrey and is a School Teacher. Her dob is out by 2 months.

Thanks John...I will note the DOB discrepancy. I have applied to the Ipswich crematorium and cemeteries website. Perhaps they have a record. Bryan

Newspaper wise , the East Anglian Daily Times or (Ipswich) Evening Star (as it was then) would be mostly likely for a death notice, but their on line records unfortunately do not go back that far.

Thanks Kigi...I may be writing them if the cemetery does not come through. Best wishes, B
