Any reason why I cannot find on Ancestry, two births and a marriage whose mother was Catholic, this was around 1977 - 1980 in England.
-
Have you tried FreeBMD?
Have you tried variations of surname?
-
As KG suggests - FreeBMD is a good start - the coverage charts suggest that 100% of births and marriages are complete for the period you are looking for.
If, however, you are looking for church records, then you are very unlikely to find images - a) it is too recent, and b) there are very few Catholic records online.

Have you tried searching for the births under mother's maiden name (if known) in case the marriage took place much later? Or searching in FreeBMD with mother's maiden name a approx. years? (in case children from a previous relationship or father's surname is a different spelling than the one you are using.
Are you sure these events took place in England? I spent a good while yesterday searching for an English family without finding births, etc. but turns out children were born in India & their father in France.

Thankyou for all the responses. The parents definitely married in England as well as their daughters. I have searched on BMD but unfortunately no success.
-
Have you tried surname variants?
E.G. I was tracing an O'Reilly family. Some Births and marriages indexed under Reilly!
Apparently a common occurrence in Ireland?
-
Have you found the children later - in marriages perhaps?
Are the children and mother still alive?
Did they retain the same surname?
If they are still living you won’t be able to post the names but someone might volunteer to double check for you by personal message.

I might consider a volunteer to double check for me. Thank you.

Good Luck :)

I recently came across an unknown catholic marriage in my tree. Luckily i know the church so i gave them a ring. The nice chap on phone told me that i would struggle to catholic records online. He said that most record are kept on paper in the relevant church.

These should be here though :-\

Were they definitely in England?
Dad not in the army and children born abroad? Findmypast has the British Armed Forces and overseas births - I was born in that time period and mine is on there and not on freebmd

Does this mean that the children from those births are not known as adults - the births being around 77/80 rather than specific years.
Religion wouldn’t affect civil registration.
