Title: Southampton Industrial School Ship
Post by: AsH62 on Friday 28 January 22 18:39 GMT (UK)
Hi. I am trying to find out more about the Southampton Industrial School Ship. I am looking at a boy who was born in 1888 and was on the ship in 1901.

I know that Industrial schools on land tended to be for 'troubled' or orphaned children, was this the case for the Southampton? Please can anyone tell me where I could find records for the ship.
Many thanks
Alison

Hull Archives MAY just have records of the children - it may be worth an enquiry. The ship is mentioned on their website.
