Title: Looking for information on a Warrington address.
Post by: Antonden on Friday 14 January 22 15:21 GMT (UK)
Hi,
When my grandfather attested for the South Lancashire Regiment in 1896, he gave his address as:
5 Castle Street
in the Parish of Warrington.

Any information on this address/area/parish would be appreciated.

Thanks
Tony

Castle Street was near the centre of Warrington, close to Sankey Street, and used to be the shortest street in Warrington. It was demolished in the 1970s along with many other streets and buildings in that area to make way for the new Golden Square shopping centre.
