Title: JOHN McGARRY Connaught Rangers.

JOHN McGARRY died at Gortmellia, Belmullet on 14 Aug 1917 after service with the Connaught Rangers. He was the son of Patrick and Ellen McGarry of Gortmellia; Patrick was a farmer. John's mother Ellen died at Gortmellia on 1 June 1914. John had a number of siblings including Bridget, Owen,Ellen (Eleanor), Maria and Honor.
I am trying to find where John McGarry is buried. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

 Pullathomas Cemetery Co Mayo  has several McGarry headstones  none for John in 1917, there is a Headstone for Owen McGarry Gortmelia died 1971. Ellen McGarry married James Meenaghan she died in 1954 also old headstone for them in same cem.

Thank you, Owenree, that sounds like a good lead. Do I take it that this cemetery belongs to a Catholic church or parish? Any idea which one; I am totally unfamiliar with the area.

Here you are. It’s number 60. I looked last evening for a while and found the same information as Owenwee.
It might be that there was no headstone or it is now just worn.
