Dear People of Rootschat,
Last year I adopted the grave of Frederick White.
I have some trouble locating his family, all I know is the information I have is from the wargraves committee and the cwgc.
Is there anyone here with more information or maybe some help finding his relatives.
I know he was married to Hazel Joan White of Walpole Highway Cambridgeshire and his parents were Albert and Mary White.
He was from the 621 Field sqn, Royal Engineers and died on 5 February 1945 aged 25.
His service number is: 1922883.
At this point I am completely stuck in my research.
Any help would be kindly appreciated!
Kind regards,
David van Coolwijk

Hi David,
Frederick White born 17th. March 1919
He had an elder brother Robert William White born 4th September 1909
Parents Albert and Mary (mn Garrod)
Looking in the same area and using mothers maiden name there probably was another brother, Joseph H White born 1912.

His marriage was in 1942 as per www.freebmd.org.uk but there does not appear to have been any children born to the marriage.
Hazel was previously Ashmore & was b 16.5.1919
-
@CaroleW: So that is probably a dead end I am affraid.
@Fisherman: thank you! From CaroleW's response I learned that there were no children so that is a dead end.
I suppose maybe we can find somthing through his older brother(s)?

Hazel remarried in 1948 to Richard W Joyce and she died 23.8.2013 in Cambridgeshire
-
His brother Robert William White died 1985 Cambridgeshire
-
Brother Joseph Harry White born 7.1.1912 died 1986 Cambridgeshire
-
So all I can hope for now that his brother has children or grandchildren who saved information or photos. Fingers crossed I suppose!

I also found his casualty card through someone on facebook!

There is a tree on Ancestry for Wilfred Leonard White. Do you have Ancestry access? If not I can email the owner for you and give him the link to this post?
-
No I don't have acces to ancestry. If you are willing to mail him, that would be great! Thank you!
-
Will do. Stanley White b 1905 married Lily M Ward in 1932. See freebmd - 2 sons born but details cannot be given here as they may still be alive
The older son married in 1954

Thank you very much! Hopefully he can give us more information!

Hi
My husband's great grandfather is Albert White's brother, Amos White, who died in 1945. I am building that part of the family tree on Ancestry and will check the records to add Frederick- so far, we had some of his brothers but not him. We have visited some of the family graves in Cambridgeshire and have tracked other war records for the family too so are interested to know more about this.
-
@Chris Line, thank you for responding! Hopefully you will find out more! I am also looking for a photo!
We went to the cemetery yesterday to lay some flowers at his grave!
-
I have posted several inquires to some facebook groups in Northam, asking I Wilfred Leonard White is familiar in that area.
Hopefully someone responds!
-
I have found the granddaughter of Wilfred White through the my heritage website, I emailed her right away. Hopefully she returns my email!
-
My grandfather was Wildfred Leonard White, brother to Frederick
I am the daughter of his youngest daughter Kathryn Phillipa. She was the youngest of 4 children of Wildfred & Enid May. One son & 2 daughters are still alive, my mother passed in 2011.
Thank you for the information that you've all gathered & for looking after Frederick's grave.
