Bryant,
I just had a quick look at this image and the Enumerator's writng is really hard to read.............therefore Hockray/Hockley could also read Horkesley (the more I look at it I'd say definitely reads Horkesley) - difficult one for a transcriber.

Thankyou Meg/CP/Margaret for all the lookups...and it is definitely the right family in Poplar 1861
........I have assumed that Wilby (son) aged 1 month hadn't been given a christian name at that time........is that correct?
Thanks
Bryant ;)

Hi Bryant,
Yes - that's correct............and here is baby Wilby in 1871.
His name is William and he has siblings, James, Ellen and Emma.
Also Jemma is Jemima on this image........difficult family to find with all the different transcriber and /or enumerator variations (not to mention the different places of birth) ???
1871 England Census
RG10/583, Fol 66, Pg 13.
5 North Street Poplar All Saints, London, St Stephen (there is another family at no 5 but appears to be a different household)
Robert Welby (Welby on the image) 36 Colchester Boiler Maker Head
Jemima Welby 32 Walton on the Hacy Wife
William Welby 10 London, Scholar Son
James Welby 8 London, Scholar Son
Ellen Welby 6 London, Scholar Daughter
Emma Welby 10 months London, Daughter
So there you have it.

I have an Angel following me round................methinks Clincher will come up trumps with Lady Tuck........he spends more time in the GRO than those that work there.
Bryant :-*

Now Bryant - you wouldn't have played a part in this by any chance................a little whisper perhaps? ;)
Thankyou so much, it is appreciated.
This forum seems to be the Angel meeting place.
