Hello All,
Any thoughts on this one? Could it be a school photo?
And when would you say it was taken??
It was amongst my great grandmother's half-a-dozen photos, so it may possibly be St Paul's in Maidstone, but I don't know that for sure.
She was born in 1892, if that helps with the year.
Thanks so much for your help,
Glen

It's Edwardian but difficult to say which part.
If she's in this she would be one of the older girls.
It does have elements of a school photo but I don't think it is.
You wouldn't see a schoolmaster in shirt & waistcoat with a
pipe in his mouth.

Sunday school?
-
What are the two boys sitting at the front wearing? Is that regular clothing for the period? Or could they be Altar Boys?
Or maybe it's just a family group shot? Do the two women look like they could be sisters? Perhaps :-\

Maybe some special event. Sunday school was my thought too.
2 boys (far left and right) dressed for sport – cricket?
2 younger boys sitting wearing unusual jackets with large white collars.
Lots more girls than boys, and some of the older girls appear to be wearing flower corsages on their dress.

The older boy standing third from the right, has, I think a tricorn hat under his right arm and is wearing quite an elaborate top.
As others have said, not an obvious school photo as there is a much younger child being held at the back of the photo.

I don't think it's a school photo. I have my gran's school photo from 1919, and it's a more formally arranged group and one child is holding a slate with the school name and year which I think was fairly typical. It could be Sunday school although I might have expected a more formal grouping with the vicar as well. They do seem to be in their Sunday best though.

Hi All,
Any thoughts on a date, for this one?
Thanks so much for your help :)

the photo of the school looks like the old st pauls infant school which is still there as a builders yard and was opposite the old st paul church which burnt down about 1963 and the other old st pauls school next door which has now all gone to flats and on old maps was a nursery (growing plants)

Dear eccles fan, thank you so much! I've always wondered whether this could be St. Paul's!
I'll have to make a trip to Kent and see if I can pop into the Builder's Yard.
Thanks very much for your help,
Glen
