Title: John Robinson and Charlotte Queen marriage - Belfast - September 1866
Post by: Ben McCloskey Robinson on Wednesday 01 December 21 21:03 GMT (UK)
Hello all.

I've been searching for my ancestors John Robinson and Charlotte Quinn's marriage information for a lifetime - and I've finally found a marriage that looks correct - same names/correct ages/professions all seem right except - my family are from Tyrone and I know this couple raised their children and died outside Caledon.

Is there perhaps a viable reason they were in Belfast at this point in time? Did they go to Belfast for work and marry there before later returning to Tyrone?

Or am I being extremely naive and making this fit?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Ben

Marriage of John Robinson & Charlotte QUEEN gives both residing at Durham St.- he's a labourer (age 22) & she's a millworker (age 23).

His father William Robinson, groom. Does that fit with your family?

The William Robinson birth registration is for sure my ancestor, and he was born in Caledon. The John Robinson and Charlotte Queen record adds up in every aspect except that it is Belfast not Tyrone - but perhaps they went for work.

I've narrowed down to them because they are the only marriage entry that fits them - bar location!

Thanks for these.
