Hi there,

I'm looking for a baptism record for the above person, my partner's 4 x great grandmother.

I have a marriage for to George Bartlett 2 Dec 1791 in Sturminster Marshall which describes her as "of this parish" and also a possible burial record for her in the same village in 1831 which gives the approximate birth year but I've not been able to find a baptism.

Any info gratefully received.

There is a baptism for an Ann Dean 28 March 1766 in Hinton Martell, parents Thomas and Mary.

Hinton Martell is about 6 miles from Sturminster Marshall.

That Ann possibly married Richard Pinton at Wimborne Minster 14 Jan 1785 - she was noted as being of the parish of Hinton Martell

I have a DNA match which Ancestry is trying to connect via a William Dean & Kesiah Boyt but it looks wrong to me. From the ages involved it would be more like this William b 1755 is Hannah's brother! Or of course the connection could be somewhere else completely!

The link then runs down via William's daughter Kezia b 1792 and baptised in Sturminster Marshall herself.

Are you sure Hannah Dean was a spinster when she married George Bartlett?

I have the Dean family in my tree, William Dean married Keziah Boyt who is in my husband's tree.
James Dean born 1764 is a brother to the above William. James marries Hannah Heyes 13 November 1787 in Sturminster Marshall & James dies & is buried at Sturminster Marshall in 1790; James and Hannah had a son, John, born 1788. I haven't been able to find any other children for James & Hannah. It is possible that this is Hannah Dean, widow of James who marries George Bartlett in 1791.
