If you click on 'report to moderator' you can ask for this thread to be moved to AUSTRALIA board where descendants are more likely to be found.
Meanwhile, it would help if you gave an idea of dates- such as when Joseph & Elizabeth married (although we can't post details of anyone who could still be living). Have you found deaths of Joseph or Elizabeth?

This might be the couple you are looking for-

Also found this house for sale not far from Picton "It was constructed by miner Joseph Creighton who was granted land in 1835 and built the house during the 1850s." but not sure if same man-

Search here for NSW births and deaths
https://familyhistory.bdm.nsw.gov.au/lifelink/familyhistory/search?0

Perhaps when you have established some offspring of your couple, you can start to search them individually.

You can put their names into the search box here and you will see much interesting information about some of the children.

Good to make your own start that way ;D

Agree with Sue, those are two excellent resources for NSW family history buffs.

I should also mention that in the penal era, there were at least TWO chaps by name of Joseph CREIGHTON :

one arrived in 1819 per the Tyne from Ireland
one arrived in 1820, from Ireland, part of the 48th Regiment of Foot, garrison forces

Hello Megan,
what part of Ireland did your Creighton family eminate?
My Creighton family from Gosforth UK are said to have come from Co. Donegal.
Apart from the words 'Born Donegal' - we have no ther link.

cheers

Hi Jack

Joseph Creighton was a convict to Australia onboard the Tyne in 1818. He was a house servant from Dublin so probably not related to yours in Donegal.

Cheers
