Settled down this morning to take advantage of this offer. So disappointing. Is it just WW records because of the anniversary this week?
I have already done these quite thoroughly, but wanted to go back to a relative, William Francis Tayler who was involved in the Boer War in South Africa. The record is indexed, but not accessible.

My email says UK records and when I click the link in it I am taken to UK WW1 & WW2 Wartime records. I do only have a UK sub.

Maybe I just misunderstood.
He was with British Forces in South Africa, just as British soldiers were in France and Germany, yet their records are included. (I actually think I have his medal record for WW1, although I can't be sure.)
Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

I think in previous years it has been a lot more free records than that for remembrance day.

Virtually the whole UK site!
No free access to any images on Fold3 though.

Was your man born circa 1879 in Lichfield?
Did he have a brother called Frank?

Strange really that they give free access to Fold3 on Memorial Day but not on Remembrance Day, especially as there are a lot of records on that site from TNA.
Good job my lot were all Royal Marines and available from Kew. ;D

I've found that with my FindMyPast subscription I can get the records for free that I would have had to pay for on Fold3.
-
Apparently Fold3 are also giving free access.
