Title: Lionel Norman Hanson
Post by: ivorjbody on Friday 29 October 21 17:12 BST (UK)
I cannot find anything about Lionel Norman Hanson who was in the Household Cavalry. His granddaughter was told he rode along side the Queen on her Wedding. Any help please?

Found about his birth, death etc but not military career. Thanks Ivor

His service records will still be with the Ministry of Defence

They cost £30 and there is a very long wait

Looks complicated for someone like me in their 90 year. Do you know if a granddaughter can apply for her grandfather who is dead? Thank you so far.

Yes she can  - but she will encounter exactly the same situation as outlined above.

Yes, she can apply but will possibly need his death certificate.  The forms are daunting aren't they, I need to send for one and keep putting it off  :)

ADDED I see Carole has replied but will post anyway  :)
