Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me any information on Dvr. J. Palmer. I think he had some connection to my Granddad Robert Jones who was injured in WW1 in 1918. I know there is not a lot to go on but I would appreciate any help.
Many thanks.

A.S.C. is Army Service Corps. Unfortunately there were lots of drivers named J. Palmer in the ASC !

Thank you - I knew it was going to be a long shot but thank you for looking for me.

Hello Jim, I think you may have helped me before.
This is my Granddad:
He volunteered to join the army in 1915, served in France with 7th Battalion King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment (KORL) - his regiment No. 22995 - July 1916 to July 1918. Wounded on 8 July 1918, left arm amputated is recorded. Received a Silver War Badge because of his disability leading to discharge. British War and Victory medals.
His service in France was up to 8 February 1918 with 7th Battalion. This battalion was disbanded on 8 Feb and he was among 6 officers and 194 men who were transferred to 1/4th Battalion, it was with this battalion he was wounded on a day the war diary records as a "quiet day, nothing to report" - this on a day when 3 men were killed and 11 wounded. He was in the Royal Victoria Hospital at Netley Southampton in August 1918.
Many thanks.

Thank you Tony.

Tried to find a connection between 4/King's Own & 139/FA but at the
time he was wounded they weren't even in the same Country so that's
not the connection.
I notice he has the 14/15 Star Medal Ribbon which narrows the search a bit.

Thanks so much for looking for me Jim ;)

Narrowed it down to 4 using the criteria Dvr. J. Palmer ASC 14/15 Star holder
still serving Xmas 1918 but doesn't really help much.

Thanks Jim :)
