I am looking for people associated with the family of Ignatius Ridgway and Hannah How who married in 1767 in Mottram in Longdendale.
Ignatius was the son of James Ridgway and Mary Leech and was brother to James Ridgway the radical publisher of Piccadilly.
James Ridgway appears to have been born in 1724 since his will shows he died in 1814 and he was 90 years old. The family seems to have been securely bound to Hollingworth/Stalybride/Dukinfield for many hundreds of years.
James' parents appear to have been John Ridgway and Elizabeth Kelsall, so John must have been born before 1703 but it does not look as though the digial records go back that far.
If anyone can do a look up for John Ridgway of Hollingworth or Mottram for 1680-1703 that would be great.
Thanks.
