I am trying to find ancestral info for my friend (nee Lamb) on the Walling family who lived in Halton near Lancaster, Lancs. The earliest I have is a Thomas b. Halton circa 1790 who later m. Agnes (?) from Dent. Possible son of William and Nancy, baptised in Halton 28/12/1788. Later names of those who lived in Halton and may be descended from them are Leonard, Thomas, Robert, Agnes and Christopher. Any help would be much appreciated.

There’s a marriage of Thomas Walling to Agnes Thistlethwaite at Halton 6 December 1819. Image on Ancestry also the baptisms of their children and Thomas’ baptism on 20 December 1788 parents William and Nancy. All at Halton church.
There’s a birth registration for a possible Agnes Thistlewaite of Dent in the Quaker records, parents Anthony and Mary. Image on Ancestry.
If you don’t have Ancestry the parish is well represented on the www.lan-opc.org.uk site.

Hi,
Images of Halton registers, Bishops Transcripts, are on family search

The first marker is image 3, look for the other markers for various dates.

I haven't heard of free reg. Must be a new one since I did my research for Thurnham inhabitants a few years ago so I'll go on there. Cheers again!
