The central cross is very like The St. St,John Ambulance Brigade motif .
Not a military organisation ,they attend events where there will be crowds etc to administer vital and not so vital First Aid.
.The members, all volunteers are fully trained First Aiders .
However not sure of the date it started.
Hope this helps,Viktoria.

I wonder if it's from an Edwardian watch fob ???
-
I have been looking at the symbols around the arms of the cross.
One is rather like a stylised capital Omega ( the one that looks like a hook from a hook and eye.),the other reminds me of something but it won’t come to mind !
What is the metal?
Any hallmarks or just a base metal.?
I am going to look up the date of St John A.B.It might be an early medal from that organisation.
Viktoria .
P.S.1887 , looked at old badges and watch fobs but nothing like that .

That particular style of cross, is known as 'The Cross of St John'. As well as the St John Ambulance Brigade, it is also associated with the Fire Service. Someone also mentioned Masonic Lodges. That emblem is also associated with the Knights of Malta. Refer to Link below.

Is that a chain attached to the top of the pendant? If so, does it have a clasp like a neck chain? (it doesn’t look very long in that photo)
-
Thank you everyone so very much for trying to help
it is just a base metal i think , there are no marks on the back it must have hung on something as there is the small chain on it,
thank you again
Patricia.
