She married John Mennie on 14th December 1855 at Christ Church, Folkestone.
My query is that John was listed as a "Corpe Tronian Island British Subject" on the 1851 Census. Is this a mis-transcription as I can't find out anything about this Island.
Any help would, as per usual, be very grateful be received. David

Although civil registration started in 1837, there are Armed Forces births available from 1761. So you can get these from the GRO.
John Mennie Ionian Islands vol 11 pg 257 and vol 2 pg 65
Also records for Alexander, Charlotte E, George C B, Henry R, Mary A, Robert and Sarah E.

Mennie family in Lambeth in 1861, more mistranscriptions. It is R O, not R C and he was Surveyor War Department. Place of birth is Edinburgh on census. Mary Ann born Truro.

Possible baptism for Mary Ann in Kenwyn, a parish covering part of Truro.
