I have a copy of a death cert, with a female living at the above address when she died in 1942.
I've checked the 1939 but can't see 52 Marston Road on there, to see if she was visiting someone.
I understand it was a workhouse? She was assaulted (hit on the head with hammer) in 1936 London, where she had always lived. Her son, who lived in Hoddeston, Walton (?Waltham? Cross, reported the death.
I know it is definitely her, but I'm puzzled as to why she lived in London but died at 52 Marston Road, to Stafford in 1942. And why number 52 is not on the 1939?
(It's keeping me awake at nights ???)

See reply 8 on this thread. Check if they are now open & whether they have records for that period

Thank you both. She's not there in 1939.........or anywhere else!

Do you want to tell us who she was / date of birth

Just a thought, but could she have been transferred to Stafford because of the War?
