Title: Arthur Brown, York & Lancaster Regiment
Post by: Annielizz on Monday 30 August 21 11:38 BST (UK)
I'm trying, without any success, to find out about my Dad's older brother Arthur William Brown, who died on 18 May 1941 aged 28.
I know that he was living in Rotherham in 1939, born in Canterbury, Kent in 1913. He was a Corporal in the York & Lancaster Regiment 16th Bn, No. 4757045, he enlisted in 1940. He's buried in Canterbury cemetery.
But I can't find out where he died or what happened and I don't know where to start! I would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Annie

Wrong Arthur.......apologies.  :-[

You can send for a copy of his service record, cost is £30 and there is a long wait.

Will message you the details.

Thanks Millipede - I found the details of his burial on the War Graves Commission site.  The details look correct, it says son of Mrs E E Brown of Canterbury and that he's buried in Canterbury cemetery. Date of death 18 May 1941.
I would really like to find out what happened.
