Hi can anyone help with a John Boase born 1839 everywhere says Redruth but I've searched everywhere i can think of and no mention of his birth the latest certificate i got back today was from a birth at St Buryan but its not the right one, Johns
parents were John Boase and Betsey nee(Broadley) they were in Marylebone in 1841.
 Thanks Kim

no birth reg showing on GRO website for John or William born 1841. There is a birth reg for
Joseph Boase dec qtr 1842 Falmouth vol 9 pg 83 mmn Broadley, baptism for Joseph 4 Jan 1843 in the Wesleyan Methodist church in Falmouth, son of John & Betsy date of birth noted as 3 Dec 1842.

It's not surprising for there to be no birth registration in the early period of civil registration.
-
Possible, given they're in London in 1841?

 BOASE, JOHN
 Q4 1837 SAINT PANCRAS  Volume 01  Page 150

no mother's maiden name on the GRO register, but these were early days

Thank you for your reply's  will keep on trying

-
why don't you ask the registrars if the birth was registered?

 https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/births-marriages-deaths/cornwall-registration-service/

You can us the GRO site to check maiden name of the mother rather than paying for incorrect certs.

Have you tried the London birth I posted in message 2. Info on a census is only as good as the informant. If the family moved back when he was very young, he might think he was local and not born in London

Yes I'm going to look into that, probably send for certificate to double check.
 thank you
