Good morning All,

Am I the only person who cannot get on to the web site? I have been receiving an error message since Saturday morning. I have not sent them a message as I assumed that there would be lots in front of me.

Thank you for letting me know it isn't just me.

Imagine how many frustrated genealogists there are in New Zealand, and elsewhere at the moment.

I have now moved to fleshing out some of my English people - can't waste all this lock down time.

I tried about 11pm Friday and I got the same message. I will have to wait so I too have turned to England and for about an hour GRO would not load.

The internet is classed as an essential service.
In the last lockdown, we had fiber put on.
It was due to be put a few weeks earlier but got delayed.

Edit No its not. As soon as you enter details you get an error. Thought I was finally getting somewhere.
Another Edit Births and marriages are working just not deaths which is the one I want.

BDM web site, it seems to be working now.

Service outage: From 10.00pm Saturday 28th August to 2.30pm Sunday 29th August. This website will be unavailable due to system maintenance.

You may want to check back from time to time as you may be able to access the website earlier.

I ended up reporting it yesterday as it seems nothing was happening.

Today I had a response from

“ Life Identity Services Officer | Āpiha Ratonga Tuakiri Ora | Births, Deaths and Marriages Office”

I did have a giggle. Life Identity Services Officer. Imagine that on a census (if only ours were kept)

I did read on another forum that BDM were unaware of the problem.
