Can anyone read this name? I think it is a man but it could be a woman as it is a marriage witness.
Thank you
-
Is it a signature, or is more of the certificate in the same hand?
Provide a link if the certificate is online, else post a larger snippet.

It is a signature, here is the whole thing. Thank you

possibly Emilia Lancaster.
-
Red boxed as I was going to say Emilia Lancaster
So agreeing with Osprey.
I think the mark above the second letter is an artefact not part of her signature.
-
A hurriedly written Emmeline?
-
I agree some form of Emmeline, either hurriedly written or spelled differently. If it is the second witness more likely to be, though not necessarily, a woman. I suggest finding a baptism or census entry. Where and what year is the marriage?
ADDED: A possibility?
1901 RG13; Piece: 1316; Folio: 74; Page: 40 Watford, Herts
Richard Lancaster 27 plumber
Emmeline Lancaster 25b Bushey
Violet Lancaster 4
Sidney Lancaster 2
Mary T Lancaster 20
But there are entries on various census/registers/registrations for Emelina, Emilina, Emmeline, Emeline, Emoline Lancasters on ancestry.

What is the date and place of the marriage please Nats? (to give us an idea if Josey might be on the right track). :)
