I have a certified copy of the marriage between Richard Hacking who married a Rachel Hopkinson on the 13th January 1849 in the Baptist Chapel in the district of Rochdale. Alas the couple are not our ancestors and I would be happy to send it to the correct family.

Maybe post on the unwanted certificates board
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/unwanted-certificates/
or ask a moderator to move this thread. :)

Have you also considered posting the details from it as a postem on freebmd then anyone researching the family name can see the details.

Thank you for the information. I have just looked on unwanted certificates and it seems not many people use it.

May I ask which at Baptist chapel the marriage took place? I only ask because my ancestors were heavily involved in the Baptist movement in Rochdale. I am not related to either of the people mentioned on the certificate, however, just interested.

Hi, There are two words we cannot make out, perhaps Guild and then ?Tevia.. and then clearly the word Bacup. They were both Factory operatives, Richard living at Holme Nook within Spotland and Rachel living at ?Hempoteads in the township of ??Frewchurch. Richard's father James was a stone mason whilst Rachel's father, William was a school master. Witness's were Emma ?Mellor Burkitt and John Fielding. The minister was Thomas ?Dacervou. The registrar, Thomas Spencer.
If the certificate isn't claimed I would be quite happy to send it to you.
