There is the 1851 Census; the 1861 Census and almost nothing in between. There is the 1855 Valuation Rolls (property), but it doesn't list everyone who lives at a particular the dwelling just the tenant who pays the rent.
For West Campbell there are 4 Campbell's who are tenants a Mrs. Campbell, two John's a James and a William. There is no Campbell on Renfrew Road but there is a Samuel on West Street.
And be careful, there are 213 Campbell's listed in Paisley's Valuation Rolls.
You can look these up for yourself
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/advanced-search#{%22category%22:%22valuation%22}
You will need to register first if haven't been on Scotland's People which is free as are the indexes.

Thanks to everyone who replied with information regarding Campbell family.
The 1857 I found on an insurance list .

Alexanderina, would you give us more information on the insurance list, please?
Is it an official document? Who was it written by? Was it written in 1857 or earlier? The ages don't appear to tie in with their 1857 ages. Perhaps their ages when insurance was taken out?
I think the father James has died by 1861, is this insurance concerning his death?
The more information you give, the easier it becomes to help.
Also, what information you are hoping to find?

I came across this list of names in my late mother's paperwork. By 1857 both parents had passed. In 1848 both parents returned from Canada where the had spent 3 years staying in Quebec. I think that this handwritten list had been given to them after the death of the parents. This is all the information I have. I would just like to know more about this family . Thanks Alexanderina .

Hi Alexanderina, I am having difficulty finding any records for the family mainly because it is not clear what year exactly was the information recorded for the names posted.
For instance the unusual name of Cunningham, I can only find two in Scotland.
This is likely to be the one referred to earlier, maybe?
CUNNINGHAME CAMPBELL
ALEXANDER CAMPBELL/JANET BRYAN FR117 (FR117)
25/04/1779 Stevenston, Ayrshire.
ROBERT CUNNINGHAM CAMPBELL
PETER CAMPBELL/JANET CUNNINGHAM
born 10 DECEMBER 1846 baptised 29 DECEMBER 1846
GREENOCK - SIR MICHAEL STREET RELIEF
The parents you refer to, do you know their names, did they die in Scotland.

Their parents were James Campbell and Janet Grey. Both parents passed in Paisley in 1850's This is all the information I have except that one of the daughters married a man surname Adams .Thank you for your input. Alexanderina .

I hope some of this helps?
JAMES CAMPBELL married JANET GRAY 19/10/1799 Paisley Middle banns also at Paisley Burgh or Low 18/10/1799
Children Paisley High Church JAMES 9/04/1802, CHRISTIAN 14/03/1804.
No other records on SP for James Campbell & Janet Gray except HUGH 16/07/1817 = Abbey
No 1851 census for James senior and Janet and no death records on SP for Paisley prior to Statutory Registration in 1855.
There is a death of a James Campbell age 71 in 1855 but I do not think it is he. That James appears with his family in 1851.
This is likely to be James 1802 above = 1851 West Campbell St. abode Martyrs Qs
CAMPBELL James Head 48 Hand Loom Weaver (Wool) RFW Paisley
CAMPBELL Mary Wife 35 RFW Paisley
CAMPBELL James Son 9 Weaver's Drawboy Assistant RFW Paisley
CHRISTIAN CAMPBELL Likely married WILLIAM BLAIR 11/08/1820 Paisley High Church
MARION BLAIR Daughter WILLIAM BLAIR/CHRISTIAN CAMPBELL 30/03/1828 Abbey
The census below is unlikely to relate to the above, even if Janet’s age has been rounded down to 50 from 54 she would only have been 12 when married, unless the original census has been wrongly transcribed?
The only link seems to be Hugh, even his ages do not fit too well, however see below.

Thank you very much for your reply. This seems to be the family that I have been looking for. You certainly did an excellent search to help me find out more about my family. Well done . Thanks again ,Alexanderina .
