Title: Christening gown
Post by: Annielizz on Tuesday 20 July 21 12:10 BST (UK)
This is probably a strange subject, but I'm hoping someone can help.
I have an antique christening gown, hand made by my great great grandmother in 1895 when she was expecting her first child. It's beautiful, but I've discovered that an area of lace on the front has been cut out since it was last used (I'm really upset/annoyed). Also a few bits of the stitching need restoration.
So I'm wondering if anyone has used a reputable antique fabric restorer, who did a good job and didn't cost the earth?
Thanks
Annie

Without knowing where you ....perhaps a local museum could help you regarding a restorer.
