Post by: jake01 on Monday 19 July 21 16:08 BST (UK)
I am looking for a long lost relative named Lloyd or Peet around 1900 in the area of  Brown Edge Scarisbrick Lancashire. Any help with this would fill a big hole in my family tree. Thank you to anyone who may be able to help. regards  Jake 01.

Hi Heywood  I thank you for your response I have tried  Family Search but I do not have enough family info to satisfy their requirements. I think I need someone with access direct to the census of 1901 or1911.  thank for your help.

So is that not the family in 1911?
We are ‘t allowed to go into 1911 details but I have linked it for you.

My idea was that in giving you those names, you could then search  the family in earlier records.
For example in 1901, Mary J’s husband is James. They are not at the same address.
Looking at Free BMD, there is a marriage, 1883, where James Lloyd and Mary Peet are on the same page

They have your names and are in the right place. However, they might not be yours.

It is going to be difficult if you have no other information.

It may help if you can tell us how you have arrived at either of those surnames.

How do you know they are a "long lost relative" when you are unable to give either a christian name or even sex?

How did you arrive at "around 1900"

Hi Carol W.  My wife was Margaret Peet Green. connected to both the Lloyd and Peet family which farmed   Peets Farm on Peets lane Churchtown. I did part of the family tree prior to my wife's dead four years ago and have just started to re look at it. Right what I am looking for is which part of the family farmed at peets farm and what were the circumstances of them leaving the farm and then were did they live. Then only info I have got is The husband (farmer died) and left hiswife with children and after leaving the farm I believe but cannot prove without census record they lived at or near scarisbrick either pool hey or brown edge. Any help with this would be very welcome.

That information would perhaps have helped.

I have just tried my link to F S and it doesn’t work. This was happening the other day so sorry if you can’t see it. It showed when I clicked on ‘sign in’. (I was already signed in so you might have to do that.
If you search yourself for Harry Peet Lloyd, you should find them. 1911 will help with the place you want.

I mentioned that marriage too.

This site https://www.lan-opc.org.uk/ shows baptisms for Paul and Richard Lloyd, Sept 12th 1883 at Churchtown.
Their parents are James Lloyd and Mary Jane. (Fits with earlier info I mentioned).

1891 3034/100
James, Mary Jane and children are living at Peets Farm, Peets Lane, Southport with Peets relatives.

1901 3536/96/19

James and Mary J Lloyd plus several children are living at Church Gates, Southport. He is a Corporation Labourer. The census addresses above this entry are Peets Lane.
So between 1891 and 1901 the Lloyds have left Peets Farm.

1901, Jane Peet is living at 15 Vernon Road Southport with sons and a grandson.
There is a death later in 1901.

Possibly not the right one?

Does this link help?

You might find these free sites useful, the first one you have already been given but I wanted to add the info about where to look

www.lan-opc.org.uk  look under North Meols and Southport

www.lancashirebmd.org.uk

Also the free search on the GRO website
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

Brown Edge was just a few houses just over the Southport border in Scarisbrick, I suspect they would be living on one of the properties actually on Southport Road as the alternative Turning Lane appears to be named on the 1911 Census forms. I live in Birkdale so next time I go that way I’ll take a look. I might even have a nose round Churchtown when it cools down a bit!

For the moment I have no idea where Blown Out Lane is! I did wonder if it could be Blowick Lane.

Now we need to know how Margaret Peet Green fits?
When was she born, who were her parents?
Presumably she is on the Peet side rather than the Lloyds.

There is also a William Lloyd marriage to Jane Halsall in 1883. In 1891 3041/40 they are living at Brown Edge.
I think he is sibling of James Lloyd who married Mary Jane Peet.

Heywood I thank you for your replies. You have answeredsome of my quires.  First James Lloyd was the farmer and Mary Jane Lloyd (Peet) his wife. They all lived Peets Farm on Peets Lane  Churchtown with their children. I believe sometime between 1904 and the census of 1911 James Died and his wife Mary Jane Lloyd went to live Brown edge Scarisbrick. I am trying to find out the circumstances of leaving the Farm. That is one of my goals. One of the children from the farm was my wife's mother Mary Jane Lloyd until she married George Curzon Green .
Thank you for any further Help...
