Hello
Anyone come across a Frederick Street in Chorlton-on-Medlock c. 1870s?
I'm trying to locate it on a map. I have a Godfrey Edition map of the district from 1848 and I can see Sidney Street at the northern most edge of the sheet, so suspect its somewhere nearby (but sadly missing from my map)but it would be good to confirm.
Many thanks
Neil

Do you have someone living there in 1871 census at all?
If so, you could follow the enumerator’s walk to find adjacent streets.
FindmyPast has a street guide for censuses.

Route for 1871 says Frederick Street from Union Street to Hall Street
3994/115/19
If you have FindMyPast you can look at the 1939 Register,
Esther Roberts 20-11-1911 living in Manchester, has a map for 1888-1913 shows where it was, matches route information.
