Title: aging uniform
Post by: Ringading on Monday 21 June 21 02:26 BST (UK)
Hi All,
As usual I have a request. I have attached a photo of what I believe might be my G.Grandfather, Thomas/ James ? Campbell. Born Magherfelt, Londonderry circa 1842. Parents James Campbell & Mary Hinphey.

I believe he joined the Royal Artillary circa 1856, and I am hoping someone could confirm the uniform he is wearing would be appropriate for this date.
My next mission will be to locate someone with access to fold 3 who could possibly do a look up for me.
In grateful thanks

You shouldn't ask for lookups from a commercial site ;D

From RC Helppages (Guide to posting):
Do not ask for look-ups from commercial sources.
Most commercial sources have strict 'Terms of Use', which forbid publishing their data elsewhere, so asking for such look-ups is also asking people to ignore the 'Terms of Use'.

Hi, photo is certainly of a member of the Royal artillery, but from late 1870s through to about 1900.  I very much doubt this man was born before 1850 at the absolute earliest
