As far as I know this is in Stannington, Morpeth, Northumberland and may have a connection to the Quinn family back in the late 50's into the 60's and the 70's, anyone recognizing the photo and has any information on it, it would be gratefully received . . .

I believe the photograph might be of the modern day, 'Moorhouse Farm Shop and Coffee Shop', No 21, Station Road, Stannington.
Google Street View, Refers.

Ummm, Sandblown, strange as it is, this is the address given by my father in 1958 when he got married to my Mum, without realizing that the photo corresponded to Moorhouse farm itself, so I have googled it many times in the past, again not realizing the houses in front of the Moorhouse shop were the ones in the photo, but, I have also checked on the family running the farm who say the farm has been their hands for many decades as a family run business, so it would be interesting to know why it was down as my fathers home address at the time of his marriage, also as you came straight up with it that you must know the area well, so if you were to carry down Station road as to head towards the railway crossing, there is a turning on the right hand side before you reach the crossing, if you were to go into the turning and down to the bottom, there is a small holding that runs along the railway line into fields at the bottom of it, I used to visit there quite regularly as a small child, sometimes every day, they kept cattle there, any ideas on the name of this holding, or anyone who lived there back in the 60's and the 70's, it was my grandfather Donald Shaw who gave me the photo years back, but, I never knew why . . .
And thank you Sandblown for coming up with the info so quick . . .

Indiana.59,
I've suggested the photograph might be of Moorhouse Farm, simply by a bit of Web Surfing of the Quinn Families, in the area, and coming across some other photographs that appeared to match Yours. I have never visited Stannington.
I am as much surprised, and pleased, that the address matched that of Your Father's, on His Marriage Certificate. I suppose there could be a number of reasons for that i.e. Working and Lodging there, at the time of marriage, maybe knowing or friends of the Quinn Family or even a distant relative etc.

I have also been away checking on the family at the Moorhouse farm and coffee shop, it appears to have been in their hands since 1966, so this is 8 years on from my father being there, you came up with it so quick I thought you were a local lad from the area, ha ha ha, I have also seen the Quinn site, it is nice to see a family putting its roots up, Irish, I believe . . .
Why am I asking, my great grandfather Thomas was from Berwick, gets married in Berwick, but, my great Gran was from Wick, Caithness, then he moves to Edinburgh where he and his wife have my Gran, then my Gran from Edinburgh marries my Granpa from Aberdeen and goes to live there, so my father is from Aberdeen as his next younger brother, but, then Granpa and Gran decide to move from Aberdeen to the Morpeth area where they go on to have another 2 sons, and I only find out all this years later, as I thought all my Uncles were from Aberdeen, and the holding I have as my birth address was not in Morpeth and was only bought on the year I was born, so where did my Grandparents then reside between 1943 after my 1st Uncle was born to 1959 when I was born, so 2 birth certificates to get of my other younger Uncle's here to see if I can fill the gaps in a bit, Grandfather left me with a few photos before he died and I guess he was trying to fill in the gaps for me in his own way, my youngest Uncle is only 2 and half years older than me, as my Gran had her 4 children over a 19 year period, but, I need both certificates of the youngest Uncles born Morpeth area in case there was more movement in-between, and then maybe my 1st Uncles marriage, to see where was he residing when he got married, then I guess a lot of questions will be answered . . .
Cheers; Sandblown, appreciated, I enjoyed that . . . : )

I believe this is the other Farmstead, just before the level crossing, You are looking for. It's on a 1922 OS Map. Maybe Your Family were also connected with this address. On Google Maps Satellite View, it appears to be a housing estate now, but the Farm Buildings are still there.
Yes, sorry to disappoint, with not being Local. I'm a Lancashire Lad and rarely venture over the Pennines, into strange and mysterious Lands !

Wow, just how did you do that, yes, North Moor, we were at it nearly every day in the summer months, my Granpa would go up for a natter, talk business like you do, I thought the other man maybe was one of his brothers, but, I found out later they had gone to live in Canada, but, just when I have no idea, then I thought it was maybe my great Grandad James, but, he was still up in Aberdeen, I have tried to google it to get a post code so I can try and land registry it, see who owned it in the past, to no avail, no post code, and I think that is why I have had to resort back to the photo, I have other photos that might relate to this North Moor farm, but, as some folks in the photos are still living I can't put them up, could this be where my famiy lived before I was born, I wonder, saving pennies, need to get those birth certs of my uncles, the Pennines, the only thing I have ever done is the Pennine way, was it just me, or is kinda windy up there with wagons forever jack-knifing everywhere, scary stuff, it's the bit where it goes over a long bridge, never again for me, 'eck no . . . : /
Ok, I have sorted one photo out, I have blacked the two that are still going, the tall lanky one was my dad, and the other two my Grandparents, Donald and Eleanor, both passed, does that building in the back ground look very much like the building in the first picture, but, with the photo taken from the other side of the building, I wonder, wonder, wonder, have I at last found the missing link, crumbs, I have had those photos for just over 30 years, ha ha ha, dear me . . .

Yes, it certainly appears to be the Low Building by the side of Moorhouse. It is still there today, and can be seen on Google Street View (down the road bottom of the Farm Shop Entrance), and Google View Satellite.
Looks like pieces of the jig-saw, may be falling into place.

Just to conclude, this is the modern day 'North Moor' Postcode: NE61 6DY :)

Super result in this thread :-)
Perhaps you could consult electoral registers for the period around your parents marriage to see exactly who was registered to vote at that address, which may help to shed some light. (I'm assuming your Dad would be over 21 when he married).
Northumberland Archives at Woodhorn have this list of available registers:

Just to conclude, this is the modern day 'North Moor' Postcode: NE61 6DY :)
I found the actual address, I pumped in 3 other addresses for 36, 36a, 36b Station Road with the Land registry, and the last title plan gave more information, it states the propetry I am looking for is Moor Farm, 38 Station Road, Stannington, NE61 6DU, but, no information could be found to its owners so I couldn't get the title deeds or plans . . . : (
In regard of Moorhouse farm, 19 and 21 Station road, Stannington, The Shaws of 21 Station Road, looking at an ariel view photo, the Quinns would have been at No.19, and the land boundry was split directly through that building seen at the back of the house, so the left half belonged to Quinns at No.19, and the other half to the right No.21 belonged to the Shaws . . .
I have no information prior to 1970 where No.21 was sold to a William Huddleston and Doris Huddleston, then bought by the now owners in 2001, who at some point also bought No.19, if I am correct John Quinn died in 1971, and Mary in 1974, so not sure when the rest of the Quinns would have left and sold up, I will get that title deed for No.19 later . . .
242 Miles from Aberdeen where my Grandparents resided anywhere up to 1950 when their 3rd son was then born in Morpeth area, what prompted them to move, I have no idea, other than I know my Grand Mother's Uncle also resided in Northumberland area, it can have nothing to do with her father, as he was away residing in Edinburgh in this time period, 3rd Uncle birth certificate required, he he he . . .
That's where I am up to now, now I am off to stroke the cats, my little stress relievers . . . : )

Sorry for the late reply, Dad was just 21 when he got married, I did all of this 30 years ago, but, after your prompt Tickettyboo I went over it all again, including the Quinn family surname this time too, and got no where . . . : (
The only way to fill the gaps now are to get both my younger Uncles birth certificates, 1950 and 1957 respectively and see what addresses they come up . . .
Part of this was to find at what point my Grandparents came down to live in Stannington when I remembered something, I am not sure if my Grandfather knew I would hit this point in my life, but, he gave me some old photos, from those photos we now know they lived at Moorhouse farm, but, he also gave me something else, it was a school certificate of achievement for my uncle T, 1st uncle, and I thought later why has he given me this, this is for my Uncle and not my Dad, and didn't I later throw it away, silly me, if Uncle T, 1st Uncle was still attending school in Aberdeen it narrows the gap down to when they moved, so add 4 years to 1942 when he was born for hitting nursery, that brings us up to 1946 at least, add another year at the minium to have received his school certificate of achievement award we are at least at 1947, Uncle A, my 2nd Uncle was born in 1950 in the area of Morpeh, leaving just a 3 year gap, so anywhere between 1947 and 1950 they moved down from Aberdeen into the Morprth area, I know in 1958 when my Dad got married his home address was Moorhouse Farm, 21 Station Road, Stannington, Morpeth, but, could they have also been living somewhere prior to Moorhouse Farm before arriving there, again 2nd Uncle birth certificate needed to finalize the missing pieces, then maybe 3rd uncle D, whats holding me up is that I have 14 boxes all the same size packed up to move, a move that fell through, and in one of them I have a box holding 3 file boxes with their exact dates of birth, and to which to part of Morpeth they were born, and I am in no mood to unpack them all, as my 3rd Uncle has since died Familysearch gave his birth date and year, but guess what, my computer which is now near to extinction Familysearch won't open up to me anymore making it hard to apply for 2nd Uncle A birth certificate, just have to hope the registry office is nice to me when I apply for it . . . ; )
