Mary Stoker (Dixon) died 15 August 1867 at Street Gate, Lamesley. Would anyone be able to advise me as to where would Street Gate be please?
In the 1861 Census she was living with her husband Thomas at Loosing Hill. Could someone also advise as to where Loosing Hill may be.
Thank you.

This looks like them https://maps.nls.uk/view/102341473#zoom=6&lat=4914&lon=8006&layers=BT Both addresses are listed adjoining on the description of the enumeration district in 1861 as part of the chaplery of Lamesley
and an interesting History Society article relating to the area https://www.sunnisidelocalhistorysociety.co.uk/loosing.html

Thank you Kay for your help I would not have found this information without your input.
Your email arrived on a very very cold day in Sydney with snow up on the mountains.

John,hope this is of interest.
The area is to the west of Gateshead in what is now Tyne/wear but was Durham.
The village of Lamesley is a few miles east on the London to Scotland main line.

I also wake at 3am not that I can't sleep it is just my body clock telling me it is time to get up. It could be that I fall asleep in front of the TV at 8pm or earlier. Nothing much to weatch anyhow.
