Hi Folks
I don't have any active subs for checking census details myself, could someone help me please
But it is not as easy as it sounds.
I am after copies or ref numbers for all census's but I have no names to help.
It is a house inside Heaton Park, Prestwich called Rose Cottage
If anyone can help it will be much appreciated
Regards
Ken
ps
I am part of a friends groups in the park and trying to piece together the history of this once stunning house.

Familysearch will be free, and you can certainly get some refs by address. At least the 1881
https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2562194
or since the 1881 index is free-to-view, use FindMyPast.

If it is connected to your FH - why do you not have any names - particularly as you are asking for all censuses?
Does your local library have FindMyPast access as FindMyPast are the only site who offer an address search on all censuses. However - their T&C’s prohibit publication of info

I never said it was to do with my FH.

Would this be it?

Possible in 1901 census - RG13/3779 folio 16 page 23.
The Cottage plus other addresses - The Kennels, The Gardens, Smithy Lodge, North Lodge and St Margaret's Lodge - all under "Heaton Park".

Hi folks
Many thanks for checking for me it is much appreciated.
BumbleB hit the target with the 1901 census
But had to bite the bullet and renew my ancestry subs. So apart from the damaged 1850 I now have the lot and there is no mention of a Rose Cottage in the park but 90% sure it was called the Gardeners house/cottage.
What made it a bit confusing was there is a Rose Cottage in the Heaton Park area but outside of the park.
Many thanks once again

Hi Ken
There were 2 cottages in the park at Middleton Road end opposite the tram terminus (as you walk towards the lake) in the trees on the left at the bottom of the hill My friend lived there and it had quite large rooms and a huge Victorian fireplace. My friends father was a Park Keeper. Hope that helps.

Hi Margaret
Many thanks for the reply.
It is staggering how many properties and stories we have found in the research of the park. From military bases, nuclear bunkers, 3 schools, pre the park wall an area called Cunney Green, horse racing, swimming pool, holiday camp, 2 villages, at least half a dozen properties long gone, plus hundreds of other stories and the amazing thing is very little is recorded.
I did have all the census records for the park from 1911-1840 plus the 1939 register and looing forward to the release of the 1921 in 2022 that's if the Manchester bit survived (?)
