Title: Christina Pouch/Pouche
Post by: Brant81uk on Sunday 30 May 21 01:38 BST (UK)
Hi all, I am after some help in tracking down a ladies immediate family. Her name was Christina Pouch/Pouche and she was born around 1929 in the Dublin area. Her father I believe was called George and they moved to Pershore Worcestershire during or just after WW2.

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks

Tyrone

Birth certificates within the past 100 years are not searchable on-line, so you would need to order Christina’s from GRO Roscommon to get the parents names with accuracy.  This was the only George Pouche marriage I could find in the period 1911 – 1930, so might be the family you are looking for (it’s not a common name):

Sorry - Elwyn, I realise you have this marriage

There is a 17 yr old daughter , Christina, in 1911 with George and Mary.
The son George marries in 1923 - spouse Anne Keogh

It seems more likely that the 1929 birth is to this couple.

However - the birth index shows mother is Foley  :-\

There is a marriage for Michael Pouch and Bridget Foley

Perhaps there is an error in your belief - her grandfather was George.

Thank you all!! Information has been invaluable!!

After making co tact with the Pouch family it seems after all these years my surname isn’t Brant but Pouch.

My Nan may of had an affair with a man called Douglas Pouch in the 50’s resulting in the birth of my Dad.

Thanks for the help I will start adding your findings to a new tree. 👍🏼
