Hi all, its been years since ive posted here so sorry for any errors.
Im trying to find info on my Great Great Grand father Thomas born around 1819 in Shropshire.
We have no details about his life in England or even when he cam to NZ but i think it must have been about 1840-1860. A few thing I found indicate he may have gotten trouble with the law.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks :D

The only thing I can see for the full name you posted is on family search is below, it also appears on Ancestry.
Plenty of Thomas White's. This suggests he was born in Nottingham and moved to Shropshire.
How do you know he was born in Shropshire and his middle name was William?
Great Britain, War Office Registers, 1772-1935
Draft Registration
Thomas William White
Age: 16
22 Mar 1826
Oldbury, Shropshire, England
Birth Year (Estimated): 1810
Birthplace: Nottingham

Was his wife Ellen? (Presume Birth reg of Francis Sydney in 1884 is your one? It has father as Thomas, not Thomas William).
I cannot see the marriage.
And the only Thomas White marriage in 1874 is of a Thomas James.
What does his death certificate say? If they knew, it ought to have the names of his parents, how long in NZ etc
Added. In fact I cannot see any WHITE birth registration where the father is Thomas William. only as Thomas. Perhaps he fancied William once they named that son Thomas William in 1877. (Assuming I am looking at the right family)
Edit. Corrected yr

I think his boy died tragically in 1892. H was the son of Mr WHITE greengrocer of Durham Street.

So I think he must be another one.

How many of the birth certs of the children do you have? Do they ALL say Shropshire for his place of birth, or is there one with a little more information?

Only have Francis at the moment = have ordered Ellens death cert.
