Title: Seeking Hanson JAGGER
Post by: Exiled Mancunian on Thursday 13 May 21 17:17 BST (UK)
Hanson Jagger was born 2/8/1853, son of Joseph and Ann Jagger of Fixby, Yorkshire. He was baptised at Rastrick St. Matthew on 21/8/1853. He married Mary Anderson on 1/11/1875 at Lightcliffe, Yorks and I have found a burial at Lightcliffe on 17/2/1917, though I haven't yet confirmed this is him.
I have found him on 1871 census with his parents at Birkhouse, Hartshead cum Clifton (RG10/4387, folio 18, page 29) and from 1881 to 1911 with his wife and family at various addresses in the Halifax area. However, I have been unable to find him (or his parents) on the 1861 census despite several searches on Find My Past.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I may find him.
Any help forthcoming will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards and stay safe,
Exiled Mancunian.

Try Joseph Raggen on FindMyPast - they have Hanson as Thomas

Hi Rosie 99,
Many thanks for that reply, it's spot on. I would never have thought of looking for Raggen. I had tried Jagger/Jaggar/Jaggars to no avail.
I have checked the original record and it is clearly a transcription error (I have submitted a correction).
As an added bonus there was another family member next door.
Kind regards and stay safe,
E M
