Title: Old photos
Post by: PrawnCocktail on Wednesday 12 May 21 16:01 BST (UK)
A friend is currently sorting through her father's photos, and has found a lot of old photos of London from the 1950s. I may have some from my mother's photos, again 1950's, of various places. Is there anywhere to donate them to where they could be seen and used by others? it seems a shame to keep them in a drawer!

You make an online album so others could view it.

Not done it myself but suggestions will be given I'm sure.

Sorry, Milliepede, that implies a website (which costs money) and the will to maintain it. That's not going to be there from a non-history lady! Which is why I was seeking somewhere to donate them, let them put them online!

Local libraries are generally keen for such things especially if they feature buildings etc that no longer exist.  Yes I should approach them, if they are not interested then I'm sure they will say so.  They could become part of their local history collection.

London Metropolitan Archives may be interested.
