Hello all! I have a family which I feel confident is mine, but I need further information. Fortunately, four of their 6 children were all christened in Ingram, NBL. during Bishop Shute Barrington's tenure. Therefore, I am hoping that at least one of these children will have very detailed information concerning the parents. Ann Spours chr 13 July 1806 Ingram; Jane Spours private chr. 21 Oct 1807 Ingram; Sara Spours chr 27 March 1810 Ingram; Catherine Spours chr 11 Oct 1812 Ingram. Their two sons, John and James were christened in 1816 an 1819, so I doubt there will be "extra information on their baptisms. I thank all for reading this and for anyone who can provide some of the "extra" parental information. Sincerely, patrexjax

Hello Boo! THANK YOU so much for the most wonderful link you provided...I couldn't have done it without your help! :) From what I could glean...James Spour was a native of Rothbury and a hind; his wife, Jane Wealleans was the daughter of Christopher Wealleans of Alwinton. Clearly I need to dig into Rothbury records and see what more I can find! I certainly appreciate your help, Boo! Most sincerely, patrexjax

I don't know if you have found the marriage for James and Jane. They married at St Michael and All Angels, Alwinton on the 15th February 1805. You can see the entry on FamilySearch via the following link:

You are welcome, good luck in your research!

FreeREG is also great for looking for records and then you can look at actual images on F/S etc.
Having said that 1805 Marriage is on FreeREG with witnesses names.

Hello trish1120! Thank you for that reminder! I usually forget that is a marvelous resource. AND, in this case, I feel confident that the witnesses were a parent from the bride and the groom! A real plus!!
Thanks! Sincerely, patrexjax

I was doing a little more digging and found James (69), Jane (71) and their daughter Jane (30) in the 1841 census still living at Hartside. Jane Wealleans age would see to confirm that the below baptism is for her.
1771
24 February Jane Dr of Christr Weleans Sharperton
There are a number of Christopher's baptised in Alwinton Parish and I am not absolutely sure which is her father. It is possible that she is the daughter of George's Christopher baptised in 1722, but it could be one of the later ones.
There is also a memorial inscription at Ingram Church indicating that James died in 1849 and Jane died in 1850.
