Dorothy Eileen POOLE was born 1900 in Whanganui, youngest daughter of William Shakespeare POOLE and Agnes BROWN, married 1889.
Not sure that she married, can't find one in the usual sources. Can't find a death either.
Latest date can find her is 1938 Electoral Roll when she is in Wellington, still a spinster.
Any assistance much appreciated.
Thanks

Edited: In saying that, William's army record has Dorothy's dob as Janette listed.

Just to clarify that I have the right Dorothy Eileen Poole, regarding the two different birth dates.
School Records list the address as 14 Sargeant St, Wanganui
WW1 Army Nominal Rolls 1914-1918, NOK address Sargeant St, Wanganui.

Sorry used to typing Wanganui without the "H"

I have already had a crack at this and deleted the post. ::)
Because her place of birth was Whanganui, I thought maybe she returned there in her later years. Her mother was buried there.
This cemetery entry is a mystery because the death registration does not appear on NZ BDM. Well not that I have found anyway.
I know Doreen is not Dorothy but perhaps a mix-up of some sort had occurred.

Desperately clutching at straws.... ;D

Wondered why you had deleted ;D
Thinking outside the square here, perhaps if we find a death notice of one of the siblings, to see if she is mentioned. I know some put in brackets if they are in a different country.
I did wonder if perhaps William and Dorothy perhaps left NZ and went to England or elsewhere.
So you see Minnie, another clutching at thin air.

[Marriage not found in New Zealand prior to 1956]

They both appear in the E/R's in 1963. Perhaps an overseas marriage? Just saying, as no sighting of her after 1938 .. heading towards WW2.

I wondered about an overseas marriage too, KHP. But still could be in this country of course.
Anyway it looks like we have cracked this one for Ian.
Minniehaha.
-
You have cracked it, thank you very much.
If they did get married in NZ it would have to be after 1956, so an overseas one could be on the cards.

And reading her will gives a list of her nephews and nieces adding to the family history
-
Yes, and it more or less stated what her interests were in what she gave in her Will.
