John Clark married Janet Emslie in Daviot, Aberdeenshire, on the 10th of August 1845 and had many children born in Chapel of Garioch about whom I know quite a lot.
However, somehow I also have one child with the name of the subject above about whom I know only that he married Nelly MacLean in Inverness in 1878 when he said that he was an 'Engineer Journeyman'. I suspect that he would have been born/baptised between the marriage of John and Janet and the birth of Francis Wood Clark on the 11th of February 1850 at Chapel of Garioch.
Any clues regarding Alexander will be much appreciated.

The census records shows Alexander born about 1846 in Chapel of Garioch.
I could not find a baptism record for him. SP has a death certificate for him in 1918 Inverness.
In 1871 census he is a journeyman blacksmith. In 1891 and 1901 census he is working at locomotive works.

Wow! That was quick! Thank you! But there was no fulldate of either his baptism or birth?
Jock.

No record for Alexander's birth, or for the next child Elspet Emslie Clark born 1848.
Their baptisms may not have been recorded or the records were lost.
Can I suggest you remove your email address from post 1 for security reasons.

So I have to be satisfied with what I already have, eh?
I believe I have carried out your suggestion, thanks.
