Thanks for your info, but I have details of Albert birth and events from 1941 until his death. Really looking for events in between these.

:-\ Not sure what you mean. Are you looking for possible details between 1914-1941 or 1941-42?

I don't think he was likely married as normally a wife would show as next of kin on miltary reports on deaths.

Have you looked for him on the 1939 register?

I have details of birth year, and residence at 1 South Street, , Sunnnybrow, Durham.
I know he joined the Army, but do not know what year, but went on to serve in the Parachute Regiment transferring there about 1941, and was killed in action in1942 in North Africa.
I Am trying to fill some gaps between 1914 and when he joined the army.
I can not find him on the 1938 register. Any help or ideas.

You could consider applying for his service papers www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records/apply-for-someone-elses-records There is a charge for this, used to be £30 and can take some months. You have a lot of details that you need for this form such as his regiment and number. Also his death date.

These should give you additional details about his life up to his enlistment. My father's gave me full background on his schools, family etc. This can vary though.

The address you have, 1 South Street, Sunnybrow, Durham, is this the family home? If so, have you found his parents on the 1939 register?

1 South Street was the family home on the 1911 cencus.
By the 1939 register the parents where living at different addesses, neither of which had Albert living there.
I have done a separate search for Albert on the 1939 register, but he does not show up, I am wondering if this because he was enlisted in the Army.
I have already made a request to Army records, and wait their reply.
Not sure where to look next, help required.
