Many thanks to you both for finding these articles, that gets a couple more years taken care of and makes me wonder if he was in prison for the 1911 census.
I would like to say I am surprised but I am not really, his son was also a violent drunk.
May I ask on which site were these articles located?

The articles are in the British Newspaper Archives, available directly or via F M P.

Thanks again. Time to buy some credits.

Hi All,
Just an update to say that I have this week found Thomas in the 1919 & 1920 London Electoral Registers as Littleford Thomas Brown at 9a Providence Place, Bethnal Green.
And Thomas and Nellie (born Lakenheath Suffolk) are surnamed Brown on the 1921 Census at the same address. Brown being his mother's maiden name.
Still unable to located him between 1908 and 1918 using either Littleford or Brown.
