I am trying to find out more about Ellen Crow who was born in Asterby in about 1855. There's an Ellen Crow mentioned in the 1871 Census where she is in service to a family of Hawson.
Frank Crow was also born in Asterby on 16 Jan 1864 to a mother Ann and father John. In the 1871 Census, Ann John and Frank and others are all listed together.
I am trying to determine whether Ellen and Frank are sister and brother?

Thanks Tazzie and Rosie99. Just getting my head round this information.
John Crow married Ann Spalding in 1860.
Frank Crow was baptised in 1864.
Ellen or Eleanor was baptised in 1865.
If she was born in 1855 she would have been baptised at 10yr old. Not impossible!
Ellen was illegitimate to Ann Spalding and living with the Spaldings in 1861.
Thanks very much, Lindoo.

There is also this:

Mother Ann Spalding, father a servant but no name.
This more likely fits with the illegitimacy

when Ann marries John Crow in 1860 at All Saints Goulceby, her father is William Spalding. Goulceby is the next village to Asterby. On the 1861 census, it`s just Ann and John Crow.
(i keep adding to this)
The birth at Horncastle Workhouse looks more like Ann Crow`s daughter, as there was an infant buried at Asterby 12th April, 6 weeks old, so not able to find on the 1861 census. "If" this is right, we still need to be sure of the original Ellen Crow.
Good luck!
