This has puzzled me for a good few weeks/months now. Why would the French, whose country is the birthplace of one of the most famous scientists, Louis Pasteur, who promoted the idea of vaccination, pasteurisation and who developed vaccines against anthrax and rabies, be so against vaccination - in general, not just against Covid? It beggars belief that uptake numbers are so low and vaccinations against all diseases are looked upon with suspicion. Any French Chatters have any idea?

I don't suppose all the nonsense Monsieur Macron has been spouting about the AZ vaccine has helped the current situation or are the French "anti-vaxxers" in general?.

From all that I have read, they are generally mistrusting of vaccinations.
