Title: Pierre Blondeau: French Death in 1778
Post by: Daffern2020 on Thursday 25 March 21 23:21 GMT (UK)
Is anyone able to please translate this one for me, there's a few key words (I think there key) I'm not able to pick up.

Unfortunately I am only confident on everything up to his name Pierre Blondeau. I think it references being a widower but referencing specifically a first wife? Not sure if it references parents or if Madeline is actually a place. I think the age might be 62?

Hi Daffern,

I read it as follows:

On Oct 20th 1778
Pierre Blondeau, journeyman, who died on the previous day aged 70 to 72 and was married at St Pierre's church to Madeleinne Villefeu, widow in first marriage of Marin Touché,
was buried in the cemetery of this town by us, priest of St Nicolas' parish of Le Mans.

So his wife was actually a widow before she married him.

Hope this helps

Tati  :)
