I am trying to find some more information on Clarke’s Buildings Back Walls North Stafford
This address was shown in the birth certificate (24 May 1874) for Elizabeth Newman daughter of Richard Newman and Bridgett nee Higgins.
Hopefully it may be shown on a street map around the time

On the 1871 census Clarke's Buildings are between 23 County Road and 24 Gaol Road.
Both roads still there. Near H M Prison Stafford.
If you have Ancestry you can see the route taken for the census.
Both sides of County Road, west side of Gaol Road to Gaol Square
.
If you have FindMyPast you can find 23 County Road on the 1939 Register and look at the 3 maps 1888-present day.

Thank you easier when you have an approx location to start with

Hi again Comberton
Managed to see County Road ok. If I could ask is that area classed as ‘ Back Walls North’? I see that further down there is Back Walls Road North and South.
-
1871 census doesn't mention Back Walls and neither Back Walls nor Clarkes Buildings are on the 1939 Register so my knowledge is limited . No 23 County Road is the last number inhabited in 1939 but the image shows it about halfway, not sure how accurate that is. I did Google Back Walls North Stafford and found
Back Walls South/Divergent Paths
This is about a family in the area but to give perspective
1871 census
Clarkes Buildings 2817/50/13
Kavanagh family (from Google)2815/38/14
so similar area but a bit distant
I'm not sure if this is helpful but it will bring this query back to the current list and someone may give a link to a map. There are many on here very capable of that.
-
Thanks again I have found the buildings on most of the census (1871-) numbered 1-4 and on the 1939 (2-4) register where you indicated. Like you say though Back Walls not mentioned.
So it does seem that there were only that many in the block.
Cheers

I believe a lot of people on here give links to maps from the National Library of Scotland which despite the name also covers England. Worth a look and it is free to search.

Yes checked those and Old Maps. Seen number 23 County Road but others not shown as the buildings only the outline
Thanks again for your observations

If it of any interest to you, if you google 'staffspasttrack' and search for Back Walls, Stafford, you will find a drawing of a cottage in Back Walls. HTH. :)

Thanks each for your observations. Following the ‘hint’ for the drawing and subsequent picture find I have now found the Buidlings listed in an old map of the area.
Much appreciated
