I'm searching for the Wilmott/Willmott/Wilmot family. My gg grandmother gave both Toton and Attenborough, Nottingham on the 1851 and 1861 Census. I don't know who her family are. She was born 1775/1780. Ann wasn't in Nottinghamshire. She was in Leicestershire on all the census records.

:) :)
Not sure who you are looking for?
Could you be a little more specific please?

That does look good Maureen. The clues in the first post are not very helpful, I did see mention of 'Ann in Nottinghamshire' but nearly missed it ???
Place of birth in 1861 is also Toton though. I wonder where Attenborough fits in ;D

I'm looking for Ann Wilmott/Wilmot/Willmot/Willmott, born Toton on 1851 Census and Attenborough on the 1861 Census. Ann married in 1808, and was on the 1841, 1851 & 1861 Census, all in Leicester City, where she also died. I have all of this information.
I don't have her Christening record, therefore I don't have her parents names, nor do I have any of her siblings.
My grateful thanks to anyone who may be able to help regarding my granny.
Thanks a lot, really appreciate the help. Britt

So is Wilmott her married name?
-
Could you please give us the census references for 1851 & 1861 as my online resource is not finding that person.
Is this her in 1841

Ann's maiden name is Wilmott etc... Her married name is Wesley. As I said it's the Wilmott's I know nothing of, I have Ann at her marriage right through to her death. It's the Nottinghamshire Christening record that I'm after, even if it's her siblings. The Wilmott (etc..) family of Toton and Attenborough is what I'm seeking. Toton is apparently a part of Attenborough, but they both have their own church records.
I've got her marriage entry, I have her death certificate, her husband's death certificate, and all of the Census records. I need the Christening record and hopefully her parents names, so that I can then look for their marriage.
Thanks Britt

I think that witness is Wilm Wilcocks

I wrote everything that I have on Ann Wilmott, her marriage, the 1851 & 1861 census, (can't find her in 1841), her death certificate and her husband Ben's death certificate. It is the Christening I'm after, she puts Toton on one census & Attenborough on the other. According to the Records Toton was a part of Attenborough.
There are 3 witnesses on the marriage certificate, they are Willm Wilcocks, John Clifford & John Pollen.
Thanks to all for your help, I really need those Attenborough/Toton Parish Registers for Ann's Christening around 1787 to 1792.
-
FindMyPast have Nottinghamshire baptism transcripts taken from BT's for this period which have the parish of Attenborough and there is no baptism for her.
There is a baptism in that parish for an Ann Wilmott
17 Feb 1795 parents William & Mary also available on familysearch

Thank you for the entry you've posted. If this is "our" Ann her age from census & her death certificate, this would have made her only 13 years old when she married. There wasn't any reference to her being a minor on her marriage entry, nor was there a signature of a parent giving permission for her to marry. The legal age at that time in England was 21 years.
If Ann was born in 1787 or 1788 (age on census works out to app. that), then she would have been 7 - 8 years old when Christened, it doesn't mention that she wasn't an infant, which was nearly always recorded i.e. the age of the child, the date or year of birth & I've even seen adult recorded against Christening records.
Her niece placed her death notice in the newspaper in 1861 stating that Ann was 76 years when she died, this would have her birth year as 1774 - 1775, this would then have her around 20 when she was Christened.
Thank you very much for your help, I will look further into the one that you speak of in 1795. I've also just read where Long Eaton seems to join Attenborough and it was a chaplery of Sawley at one point, so I will look also at Long Eaton.
