Please see previous topic re Frederick Brotherton.
There is a record of birth for Georgina Brotherton 1886 Oct-Dec Barrow-in-Furness 8c 805; a quick turn around after Charlres Henry 3 Jan 1886 (Motherwell), but by no means impossible. I have no maiden name for mother. I have not found any other records, or entries in trees, or news articles, so this remains a mystery.
Any help much appreciated.

You could get the birth certificate?
If I have the right family other births are registered with mothers name Perkins?
So would be unusual for this one not to have Perkins as well especially as Brotherton appears to be the mothers name for Georgina not the fathers.

Thanks Milliepede. Birth cert is an option, but I'm reluctant to bother the GRO in current circumstances. You have the right family, though the index does not include mother's maiden name for this period. The 1911 census says they had 4 children, 2 alive (Charles Henry and Frances Maud, who appear in other censuses and records), and 2 deceased, one of whom was Mary Ann (1891-94), born and died Middlesbrough, where they lived later. This Georgina appears to be the only one that does not belong elsewhere. If right I suspect stillborn. Still, as with Frederick, it's worth seeing if someone can help.
Best wishes, Dion.

By coincidence there is a Charles Brotherton in Daziel in 1891 with wife Carey and son Charles age 22, it through me for a while but I found them in Walsall in 1881. This is where I think your Charles senior was probably born, he may also be on the 1881 census there. Both the above were foundry workers.

GRO are working well with family history certificates, PDF's are generally arriving quickly. Probate office is also functioning as normal, I ordered a will which arrived within 2 days. ;D

If Georgina was stillborn she would not appear on the GRO register that we can view online.

Thanks, everyone. Charles snr was indeed born in Walsall. Looks like Georgina belongs elsewhere after all. Seems I need to look elsewhere for the 4th elusive child.
Best wishes, Dion.
